About Us
From One Person to Everyone’s Story
After years of working their way up in the wig industry, the founding team at PersonWig discovered a regrettable truth: although there are many wig products on the market, very few are truly designed for “people.” Every wig that rolls off the assembly line is almost identical—with a uniform hairline, uniform density, and uniform structure—and no one takes into account the wearer’s face shape, personality, or lifestyle.
“A wig should be an extension of a person, not a mask.” It was this simple idea that led to the founding of PersonWig in 2018.
Original Designs: Tailored for Every Face
From its inception, PersonWig has adhered to a path that diverges sharply from industry norms: studying people first, then designing hair.
The brand’s design team does not create “one-size-fits-all” styles. For each season’s new collection, the team dedicates significant time to researching the genuine needs of women with different face shapes, ages, and professions—what kind of side-swept bangs are needed to elongate the lines of a round face? What kind of layering is needed to soften the contours of a square face? What kind of wig do professional women need that can be put on quickly without sacrificing elegance?
These seemingly subtle questions form the entire logic behind PersonWig’s original designs. The brand does not chase fast-fashion trends but instead meticulously refines the fit, hairline curve, inner net structure, and hair flow of every product. Every PersonWig wig undergoes repeated prototyping, try-ons, and revisions until the designer is certain that—when worn by “that person”—it looks natural, feels comfortable, and instills confidence.
Handcrafted: Conveying Warmth Through Fingertips
Original design gives the wig a soul, while handcrafted work gives that soul a form.
In the PersonWig workshop, there are no roaring automated production lines. Before each artisan lies a mesh cap, a bundle of hair, and a crochet hook—using the most traditional hand-crochet techniques, they weave the strands of hair into the mesh cap one by one. The direction of the hair, the density, and the natural transition of the hairline are all determined and executed by the artisan’s hands and eyes.
A fully hand-crocheted PersonWig wig typically requires a skilled artisan to work continuously for several days to complete. The benefits of hand-crocheting are obvious: the strands can mimic the natural angles and directions in which real hair grows from the follicles, resulting in naturally voluminous roots when worn and a parting so realistic it’s almost impossible to spot. More importantly, handcrafted wigs are lighter, more breathable, and fit the scalp more snugly than machine-sewn ones—because with every stitch, the artisan considers how to make the wig more comfortable for its wearer.
“Machines prioritize speed; we prioritize precision and care.” This is a phrase often repeated by the PersonWig team of artisans.
From the Workshop to the World
Seven years have passed, and PersonWig has grown from a small design workshop into a wig brand trusted by consumers in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide. But some things have never changed—every wig remains the culmination of an original design, and every wig is still crafted by the hands of artisans.
PersonWig believes that a truly great wig isn’t “made”—it’s “grown.” It grows from an understanding of people, from the meticulous refinement of designs, and from every stitch woven by the artisans’ fingertips.
Because every wig is ultimately meant to be worn on a real person’s head. And every person deserves a wig that’s truly made just for them.
